CWJobs joins techUK

To further our efforts in raising awareness on key issues in tech, CWJobs is now a member of techUK, a body dedicated in representing the tech industry in the UK.

Technology is a sector where our nation has a strong competitive edge. The UK is a world leader in tech innovation and the industry has boomed to a value of more than £180 billion. Thinking at all the elements that could have contributed to this success, strong industry partnerships are a key factor.

In the past two decades, tech trade associations have helped move the industry forward. Whether championing diversity, or supporting business growth, these foundations address some of the key issues facing our sector today. It’s important that tech companies, big or small, recognise and support organisations that try to bring change and create opportunities.

To further our efforts in raising awareness on key issues in tech, CWJobs is now a member of techUK, a body dedicated in representing the tech industry in the UK. The collective brings together companies and employees who share the purpose of ensuring digital technology is used to build a stronger society and economy.

Representing around 850 member companies in the UK, techUK works with relevant stakeholders to provide advice and guidance on key issues that impact today’s digital world. The work that techUK does has always resonated with us as a business and we look forward to taking an active role in championing positive change in the tech sector.

Driving the tech industry forward

Industry bodies help guide the tech industry towards positive outcomes. They provide a collective voice, raising awareness on key issues, influencing hiring practices and encouraging new ways of thinking.

In joining techUK, CWJobs looks forward to being involved in debates about innovation and how technology can impact the future. Working alongside other committed organisations, we aim to develop new relationships and advocate for the good of tech workers, companies and the industry as a whole.

The main focus for techUK is to work with its members to identify opportunities for growth and to advance innovation in key markets. By broadening their network, the organisation looks to build connections with partners and suppliers to help shape tech policies.

Addressing key issues in tech

Such trade associations lead the way in raising awareness on the issues that affect workers and companies in using technology. Without these industry bodies, the sector in the UK wouldn’t be as pro-active in pushing for industry-wide change in hiring practices, training and career progression. At CWJobs, we’re drawn to techUK’s efforts in raising awareness of issues like Brexit’s impact on the sector, the importance of apprenticeships in reducing our skills shortage and the state of diversity in tech.

Supporting tech workers and businesses

From start-ups to enterprises, employee satisfaction and company growth are essential to tech sustainability. Industry bodies support workers in many key ways, including advocating for best practices, increasing diversity and supporting companies in implementing employee wellbeing strategies.

In terms of business growth, they provide training courses to help tech staff add more value to their company and increase competitiveness. They help businesses overcome obstacles and anticipate future challenges.

The organisation provides a variety of training courses that cover a broad spectrum of themes, from developing policies, to becoming a better project manager. Their ‘Personal and Team Development’ suite offers motivational courses that help employees develop practical and soft skills that can help them progress in more senior roles.

In welcoming CWJobs’ membership, Julian David, CEO at techUK says:

techUK is very excited to now have CWJobs within its membership. The skills gap is one of the most pressing concerns in our sector. Partnering with CWJobs will provide us with greater insight into this complicated issue and help us with our public engagement through the detailed knowledge of this area of our industry.

If we are to build a world leading successful digital economy that is able to level up the entirety of the UK, we will need to collaborate with companies like CWJobs which understand the high-skill, high-wage industry that we operate in.

To find your way of moving the industry forward, start with the question of: what is at the core of our business values? This will give you a clear direction on what you should focus on and a compass to find partners that can help you.
