PDBe also maintains the PDBe Knowledge Base (PDBe-KB), a community-driven resource launched in 2018 to integrate functional and biophysical annotations for macromolecular structures. Furthermore, the team co-develops and operates the AlphaFold Protein Structure Database (AFDB), launched in collaboration with Google DeepMind in July 2021, which provides large-scale access to AI-predicted protein structures.
