        About the Team - The Protein Data Bank in Europe (PDBe) is a founding member of the Worldwide Protein Data Bank, the international consortium responsible for maintaining the global archive of experimentally determined macromolecular structures, the Protein Data Bank (PDB). PDBe also maintains the PDBe Knowledge Base (PDBe-KB), a community-driven resource launched in 2018 to integrate functional and biophysical annotations for macromolecular structures. Furthermore, the team co-develops and operates the AlphaFold Protein Structure Database (AFDB), launched in collaboration with Google DeepMind in July 2021, which provides large-scale access to AI-predicted protein structures. The PDBe team consists of an international and interdisciplinary group of scientists, software engineers, and data engineers.
