Technical Project Manager

Technical Project Manager: About the Role
The job spec of Technical Project Manager is fairly fluid, and you will be expected to wear many different “hats”. You will primarily be responsible for the day to day running of software delivery project, managing the full lifecycle of projects from planning to completion. You will provide technical leadership to the project team, and you will be expected to take on a variety of roles to ensure successful delivery (analysis, technical input etc). You will draw on your extensive client facing experience to provide expert consultancy services to clients. You will understand the key drivers in successful software development, and act in an advisory capacity regarding Agile development methodologies, design patterns, use cases, UML and automated testing. You will have exceptional negotiation skills, and will use this experience to handle potentially tricky situations with diplomacy and tact; ensuring different parties are working towards a shared goal. You will constantly look for opportunities to improve processes, and will play a key role in implementing these changes.
Technical Project Manager: Key Skills and Experience
·Extensive Project Management / Technical Team Lead experience within a software delivery focused environment
·Experience of managing the day to day running of assigned projects (software and infrastructure), ideally within a consultancy / client facing environment
·A background in providing project management based consultancy services around UAT / OAT, test practice, Agile / iterative methodologies, business analysis
·You will be an expert in Agile / iterative development methodologies, but will be willing to adopt a “best fit” approach depending on the demands of the project.
·You will have strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle and a broad knowledge of development, test, infrastructure and support.
·You will have exceptional stakeholder management skills, and will be able to communicate effectively with technical teams and external stakeholders.
·Experience of working on bespoke software development projects
·Strong negotiation skills, and the ability to influence
·A technical background, ideally in hands-on software engineering
