My client, a global giant in the digital innovation space, is seeking ambitious Big Data Architect (Financial Services, Banking, Hadoop, Hive) to assist blue-chip clients tackle the full breadth of their information management challenges. You will be working with leading FTSE 100 clients to gather their data requirements and deliver solutions unique to their business needs.

They are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds; the only stipulation being that they must have experience of completing at least one end-to-end Big Data implementation. The practice promotes a highly creative, innovative and non-corporate culture that embraces dynamism, lateral thinking, and entrepreneurialism. They invest heavily in their team and offer comprehensive training across a variety of tools and industries.

Big Data Architect (Financial Services, Banking, Hadoop, Hive)

Key Responsibilities

Big Data experienced professionals will be responsible for guiding the full lifecycle of a Big Data solution, including:

  • Use case and business case development
  • Vendor landscape and technology assessment
  • Solution architecture formulation (including role of conventional information management platforms)
  • Proof of concept execution to prove the value of Big Data use cases
  • Full lifecycle implementation from requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing, and deployment
  • Assess emerging trends in storage access which includes the application of existing high performance distributed file system storage technologies for use by applications in lieu to traditional relational database storage methods

You will have:

  • Completed at least one end-to-end Big Data implementation.
  • Strong communication skills, the ability to explain complex technical projects in a clear and concise manner.
  • Commercial awareness, An understanding of how your data solutions will impact the business
  • Project experience in a data warehouse environment and knowledge of existing and emerging data integration approaches
  • Consulting Experience preferred but not essential.

Salary: £80,000-£95,000 depending on experience.
