According to the Professional Contractors Group, there are 1.4 million freelancers in the UK and the flexibility added by this community is contributing some £21 billion to UK GDP. In these challenging times, the value of this resource has never been more significant.

New research from the Professional Contractors Group (PCG), the trade body that promotes and protects the interests of contractors and freelancers in the UK, has revealed the fundamental importance of freelancers and contractors to the IT sector.

While the economy as a whole is in the doldrums, freelancers are still estimated to be adding around £21 billion to GDP every year.

Freelance IT workers can be found at every level of industry and every sector, from banking and retail to the public sector, from basic support roles to the very highest levels of technology management.

Bringing flexibility to any organisation, the use of freelancers helps to manage risk and unlocks innovation and talent.

Freelancers can quickly plug in to your business to bolster expertise and improve speed to market. While your competitors ponder their next move, you could have a team of freelancers delivering yours!
