Accenture’s Tax Excellence practice helps clients manage risk, improve efficiency, and turn their tax function into a value-driven strategic business partner of their customers, suppliers, and the corporate organisation at large. As Accenture’s Value Led, Asset Powered strategy gathers momentum, it is experiencing a strong increase in demand for its consulting and operations services from clients in the UK and other markets.
Focusing on the agenda of change in the areas of direct tax and indirect tax processes and shared services is a specialist cross-industry group that helps clients to transform their business. Accenture is looking for experienced and qualified individuals at all levels to help grow this team across a range of industries in the UK.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Tax process re-engineering across tax functions (tax planning, accounting, reporting, and audit defence)
- Designing and implementing global indirect tax automation and reporting solutions using software applications including Sabrix, Vertex, and Taxware
- Designing and configuring master data, chart of accounts, and processes in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, and PeopleSoft)
- Designing and implementing solutions to shorten close cycles and improve accuracy in tax provision and direct tax compliance
- Data warehouse, document management, and portal design and implementation to enable Tax to quickly access, re-use, and share information
- Shared services design and implementation for multiple business units
- Guiding team through problem definition, issue identification and work plan development using problem solving principles and past experience
- Monitoring achievement of strategic, financial and operational benefits, ensuring planned business outcomes are achieved and helping to adjust programs if necessary
- Helping define the structural and organisational changes required to reach the goal; sequencing those changes
Qualifications
- Finance background with a strong knowledge of tax and accounting
- Degree qualified or equivalent with relevant experience within either a well regarded tax or management consultancy or from industry
- Professional Accounting or Tax Qualification such as CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA, CIMA with 1st time passes desirable
- Experience working with a global tax function spanning multiple country tax regimes is highly desirable
Experience with any of the following:
- Tax process improvement; Tax Risk and SOX controls; IFRS
- ERP systems, particularly SAP (FI/CO/CS/MM/SD) and Oracle Financials
- Tax data retention, particularly with SAP’s DaRT or BW
- Tax provision tools and corporate / income tax compliance software
- Indirect tax bolt-on tools, such as Sabrix, Vertex, or Taxware
