My client, major financial firm and analytical software provider for global credit markets, seeks a mid-level or Senior Java developer to join the Financial Engineering team in order to develop a Trading System used for all Fixed income products. This is a global system with over 1000 users in Asia, Europe and North America. This is a Java Swing based GUI tool and the team is currently developing an effective interface with a high performance, high volume, distributed computing framework.
The ideal candidate will have 3 -5 years experience as a Core Java developer with a strong understanding of Object Oriented Design, patterns and analysis. You should have expert proficiency with Swing and you should also be an expert in Java (SDK 1.4/1.5 including Collections Framework, MultiThreading; XML, JAXB and JDBC) programming. There is a focus on GUI development and you will be the "right hand man" to the team leader, so you must be able to take ownership of projects and work independently. Experience working at a financial firm with a background in fixed income is preferred but not mandatory. A strong academic background in Computer Science or Engineering is also required.
