Voxeo currently has a position for an experienced technology manager to join our European subsidiary in the UK. The successful candidate will fulfill a variety of roles, growing and adapting as the organization in the UK grows. Initially, the candidate should not be afraid of hands-on network operations work, whilst not being limited to such a role. It is important that the individual be able to take on customer facing roles. The individual should be seeking an opportunity to grow with an industry leader in the area of IVR Platforms and VOIP Solutions. Our network operations team works with existing web technologies and newly emerging technologies for voice communication to support our data centers and customers throughout the world.We are seeking someone who posses greater than 10 years of experience with network operations management, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and who is eager to grow with the company.
Job responsibilities will include:
·Being a knowledgeable technical resource for Voxeo Europe, working with US based colleagues.
·Initially responsible for handling several areas to include network operations and sales engineering support.
·Network operations work, including configuration, installation, and maintenance of Cisco switches and routers.
·Responding to and resolving network alarms.
·Linux and Windows server installation, administration and automation tasks Data center cabling and maintenance.
·Troubleshooting and resolving customer issues in conjunction with customer support personnel.
·Installation and configuration of applications supporting VoIP hosting platform.
·Working with Telco carriers to resolve issues with services interfacing with U.S. Based Network Operations Center.
·Accompanying the Director of Sales on new and existing customer meetings
Qualifications and Experience:
·10 + years experience in an information technology management role
·Customer and vendor relations experience required
·Experience working in medium-sized and large enterprises in the United Kingdom
·Excellent knowledge of telephony circuits, European dialing plans, geographic and non-geographic call routing
·Experience with European telecom provisioning
·Experience of IVR, ASR, TTS or SIP a plus
·TCPIP, SIP and protocol analyzers
·Linux and Windows Operating systems
·Cisco switching, vlans, router and security products
·Server load balancing concepts, Server imaging techniques
·Network monitoring with SNMP (Nagios, OpenNMS, OpenView, Operations
·Manager)
·Any experience with Web scripting (i.e. Perl, PHP) is a plus
·Any experience with XML Telephony Markup languages (CCXML/VoiceXML) is a plus
·Candidates should be comfortable with instant messaging as primary means of communication
·Must have flexibility to travel when required within Europe and to the US
·Position will initially work from home, but within months will be based at Voxeo’s new technology office in the ThamesValley region. Current data center is in Slough.
