Systems Analyst Potter’s Bar North London (Java/J2EE project)

The Role
The Systems Analyst is responsible for ensuring and leading the effective application of technology to business problems and opportunities.The System Analyst works closely with the Project Manager, Systems Architect and the Senior Developer in a shared responsibility for project feasibility evaluation, quality and completion. As a member of the System’s Analysis team, you may also help in supporting the system analysis helpdesk and support our customers on a daily basis
Responsibilities
·Define the business problem or the opportunity and contribute to the development of a businesscase
·Define and document detailed business requirements.
·Ensure proposed software developments meet Business requirements and Represent the Business Areas on the project development team to ensure IS solutions will meet Business and system needs.
·Plan and develop the test strategy, risk analysis and test plan.
·Run the user acceptance test, ensuring the functional and business requirements are met.
·Support the business/system implementation plans.
·Provide training and post implementation support to all effected areas. .
Necessary Skills:
·Appreciation of how applications are used to support key business processes.
·Experience in operating under a formal delivery methodology such as RUP, CMMi, PMI etc…
·Understanding and. or Experience of delivering a software based solution (Ideally, but not necessarily, a Web based portal solutions using Java/J2EE and Websphere application development)
Desirable for this position:
·Experience as an analyst in the Insurance/Financial Services Sector
·Experience working with Life Assurance system applications as an analyst
·Working knowledge of SQL
