This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and focused Project and Programme Managers to join a tier one IT services organisation supporting a large number of prestigious and high profile customers.
Short Description:
Resilient and reliable project managers known for end-to-end delivery capability, required to manage complex projects within challenging timescales. Candidates will have to have experience of successfully managing the delivery of £2M+ IT development projects of 20+ team members using a structured project management methodology. Experience working on Defence Projects or Programmes would be advantageous.Ability to be Security Cleared is essential.
Job Description:
The responsibilities include the following:
·Determines, monitors, and reviews all project/programme economics to include costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, sub-contractors, resources, and risk.
·Identifies and assembles the appropriate blend of resources to meet project needs and requirements, includes sub-contractor selection.
·Plans, schedules, monitors, and reports on activities related to the project.
·Leads the project team(s) in determining customer requirements and translating requirements into operational plans.
·Ensures adherence to legally binding requirements and customer long-term goals.
·Facilitates status review meetings among project team members and customers.
·Works with senior management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules.
·Proposes and develops add-on e opportunities.
·Mentors and trains the customer and/or vendor in project management methods, procedures and activities.
·Controls project/programme requirements, scope, and change management issues.
·Coaches and counsels members of cross-functional teams to accomplish project/programme, to meet established schedules or resolve technical/operational issues.
·Establishes appropriate metrics for measuring key programme criteria.
·Determines and installs appropriate automated systems for management of projects.
·Facilitates the creation of communication plans, ensuring that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders.
·Identifies and recommends contingency measures.
·Maintains awareness on emerging technologies and project/programme management techniques.
Skills/Qualifications:
Significant experience and demonstrated achievement in the following fields is a prerequisite:
·Project management responsibility in large institutions or for a major IT services organization.
·Evidence of 3 or more client-facing projects (not purely internal initiatives) with a focus on end-to-end delivery
·Will be in a PM role currently
·Substantial and deep experience with a single large and complex client
·Proven track record of successful delivery of IT projects to time and budget
·Proven experience to turn-around situations where cost/quality issues require correction
·Experience on start up of new projects/accounts/operations
·Ability to work under tight deadlines and achieve deadline dates
·Full software lifecycle experience using structured methodologies
·Strong communication skills
·Good estimating skills in software development
·Risk Identification and Management
·Planning using a recognised tool such as MS Project
·Contract Management
·Subcontractor Management
·Strong Leadership Skills
·Line Management of 20+ staff
·Will be professionally certified project manager i.e. PMP , PMI , Prince 2
·Proven track record in successfully delivering +£2m IT development projects
·Ideally experienced working within a CMMI environment
