SQL Server DBA / Database Administrator – Central London - £42k to £45k base + good bens.
Skills: MS SQL Server 2005 (nice to have 2008) database administration experience, Ms SQL database performance tuning and query optimisation, SQL replication, mirroring. Nice to have MCDBA / MCITP / MCTS in SQL Server 2005/2008 and MCSA Windows 2003 or MCTS in Windows 2008. Nice to have VMWare and SAN skills.
Our client based in the heart of the city of London has a number of divisions that delivery niche financial services (actuarial / pensions / financial planning / trustees / investment management and general investment planning). As an established preferred supplier we have been asked to recruit a Microsoft SQL Server DBA / Database Administrator to join their team at a time of significant change and development to existing systems.
This individual will have primary responsibility for MS SQL Database Management and Maintenance, as well as providing cover to colleagues managing other aspects of the technical infrastructure. The role will include operation of existing systems, as well as the development and implementation of new hardware and software solutions.
Candidates should ideally possess:-
Good general understanding of MS SQL Database Performance Tuning & Query Optimization Good general understanding of MS SQL Replication, Mirroring, High Availability and Disaster
Recovery Strategies
An understanding of the following:
o Microsoft technical architecture
o MS SQL Server 2005 and above Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, SQL Server integrated Services
o MCDBA /MCITP/MCTS certifications in SQL Server 2005/2008 (nice to have)
o MCSA in Windows 2003 or similar MCTS on Windows 2008 (nice to have)
