Development Manager– VB / PERL / SQL / Oracle / Retail / BI / Mercatus / BTe – North Yorkshire An interesting and unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Development Manager to join this expanding Retail IT Team in the beautiful surroundings of North Yorkshire. The Development Manager will have extensive knowledge of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server. You will be extremely skilled in Visual Basic and PERL as all current business systems are constructed in this format. You will have used Business Intelligence tools in previous employment and any use of Hummingbird BI Query would be to your advantage. Any experience of Mercatus would also be extremely beneficial. You will use all these skills on a daily basis as well as mentoring juniors to keep them motivated in order to meet the project deadlines. You must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 6 months experience within a Management role. As a Development Manager the ideal candidate will have proven experience in the retail industry and have plenty of experience developing systems for the retail industry. You will lead the development team, inspiring juniors and ensuring all projects are under control and on target. You will be responsible for key IT services and also the development and support of the reports and applications for the business. You will be responsible for ensuring the company's continued success, growth and security at the forefront of the market. You will report directly to the Head of IT and you will build and maintain excellent relationships across the business, including your own team, and senior management.
