Who we are

We publish (online and in print) the leading guides to business lawyers around the world. We have been doing this since 1990, and have a team of 150 editors and researchers investigating the legal profession in 160 different countries in all continents.

We have developed a sophisticated database and desktop application which supports this research and produces the printed books and the website.

Our IT department

We have a team of 15 developers in our IT department working on desktop & web application development in an agile environment using Microsoft stack of tools and platform.

What we need

The role involves programming and support of the existing Production system and does not involve Graphic Design or Desktop Publishing.

Full training will be given for the right candidate by an experienced in-house developer.

Essential

·Must be familiar with Apple Mac and Windows PC

·Any programming experience would be an advantage

·Keen to learn

Nice to have

·AppleScript programming

·FileMaker Pro - using or programming

·Familiarity with InDesign or Quark Express

·A computer related degree or Certification

This is a full time position based in Central London (Holborn).

The candidate will be initially trained in using InDesign and programing in FileMaker Pro and AppleScript. In the later stages additional training will be provided in the following: SQL, XML/XSLT, JavaScript, Adobe ExtendScript, GIT and Unix bash/shell scripting.

Experience here will prepare you for the current FileMaker Certification Exam.

The job is ideal for a recent university graduate looking for a first job or junior Mac operator trying to expand into programming.
