PMO Manager - SPM Competitive Salary + benefits + Car
Based: Derby
A new, fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced PMO Manager to join our flourishing projects practice, focussing on high value, complex infrastructure transition and transformational projects.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Management of key Customer stakeholders
  • Management of the production of Pre-Sales Proposal /SoW creation and adherence to the customer and CC authorisation processes
  • Management of Project/Programme Managers managing PDS Projects Management of Implementation and adherence to all CC PDS & Projects processes
  • Management of cross project dependencies, risks and issues
  • Quality and process assurance for all in flight projects including regular audit/health checks
  • Point of escalation for major project issues, risks and changes
  • Presentation of large project portfolio status to Internal Governance Board
  • Management of status summary reports and reporting of KPIs
  • Project pipeline monitoring and associated resource forecasting
  • Project status reporting to, Customer, Service Management Community and CC Governance function
  • Monitoring of the management of the Project and Portfolio finances to ensure agreed margins are met or exceeded and escalating to Internal Governance when the margins are negatively affected.
  • Working with the Service Management team to ensure billing to the customer meets agreed targets for the PDS
  • Reporting and participation in the Account Management Team meetings
  • Continual improvement and development of documentation and PDS processes
  • Single point of contact and escalation for Customer and CC for project issues and status
  • Ensuring project sign off and project deliverables transition effectively into BAU support
  • Working with the Service Management Community to develop the pipeline of projects for CC
  • Coaching of the Project Managers to ensure continual improvement in the project delivery
  • Induction of new project managers to the PDS including Site Awareness, Customer Awareness and PDS Process training

Key Requirements

  • Prince 2 Practitioner qualification
  • Demonstrable experience of managing projects and/or programmes to a high level for a minimum of 5 years
  • Experience of managing, coaching and mentoring staff members – some of which will be more experienced and senior than yourself
  • Ability to create, follow and enforce procedures and processes
  • Ability to be flexible and work under pressure
  • Have an analytical mind to own and assist with issue resolution
  • Ability to analyse, monitor and mitigate programme risks
  • Required to attend customer location as required
  • A disciplined and organised individual with excellent time management skills
  • Experience of managing customer expectations and forming working relationships at a senior level
  • Committed to customer satisfaction
  • An understanding of how to transition solutions from project into BAU operations
  • Ability to consolidate and report on KPI’s and financial information
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • An experienced team player with the ability to motivate others
  • Good negotiating and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a portfolio of projects within a Managed Service environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • An understanding of Portfolio Management techniques
  • ITIL Service Management qualification to foundation level
  • Experience of pre-sales activities including knowledge of effort estimation techniques
  • Continual Service Improvement Training attended and demonstrable experience of managing a CSI Plan

Desirable skills/experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of Computacenter TEMPO delivery methodology
  • P3O to Foundation/Practitioner
  • MoP Practitioner
  • ITIIL Service Management Training
