BBC worldwide are seeking a Permanent Unified Communications Engineer to join our UC team, based from our offices at Media Centre, White City. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast paced team for a Global Broadcast Brand.
The role is ideally suited to UC engineers with a proven background of providing 3rd line support for with Exchange 2010 and Lync 2013 environments. Experience of managing Blackberry estates and all complementing messaging technologies are also highly desirable.
Excellent understanding of Microsoft Network Infrastructure, such as DNS and DHCP.
Excellent working knowledge of Windows server 2003/2008 R2 operating systems and Active Directory.
Demonstrable experience in working with Exchange 2010, Lync Server, Blackberry Enterprise Server and Symantec Enterprise Vault.
The ability to see the "end point" and know the steps required to get there.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, understand and present clear solutions to problems.
Media gateways and Cisco Call Manager experience.
Working knowledge of NetApp technologies such as SnapDrive and SnapManager for Exchange.
Microsoft MCSE or any Exchange and Lync certifications (or equivalent) would be advantageous.
To provide technical support in both a proactive and reactive manner, ensuring systems are stable and performing within the terms of their respective Service Level Agreements.
To design and implement new UC infrastructure, as well as provide day-to-day monitoring, capacity planning and management of the existing estate.
To evaluate and apply any necessary security patches, hotfixes, service packs and hardware updates.
To work with other members of the UC team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise, working with vendor support where necessary.
To keep abreast of developing messaging technologies, as well as contribute towards producing roadmaps.
To deliver results within given time frames, ensuring that your work is consistent, well documented and in-line with team standards at all times
You will be expected to provide out of hours, on-call support for critical systems on a shift rota basis and, where necessary, work the occasional weekend/evening to perform maintenance, upgrades, and repairs or troubleshooting.
