Business / Project Analyst required to join a leading IT and engineering solutions provider based in Winchester. Salary upto £35k + benefits. Must have excellent report writing skills and a strong understanding of Oracle Financial, MS Project, Excel + BO
As a Business Analyst / Project Analyst, you will provide analytical support to Programme and Project Managers in a PMO environment, across the range of Projects delivered within the Engineering Delivery Unit.
You will also be responsible for:
- Creating a consistent way of working: One standardised tool across the business, standardised project templates, one process, consistent data capture, project tracking,
- Data Integrity and project reporting.
- Development of Project Manager level suite of reports / tools to enable data management, exception reporting, visibility of project performance, out of date milestones.
- Guiding and coaching in Microsoft Project to project managers.
- Provision of accurate financial and non financial data (Oracle Financial)
- Analytical support
- Production of KPIs and management reports.
- Production of other financial forecasts as required e.g. capex re-forecasts / bids in progress.
- Act as a 'super user'/expert in the use of project management systems, Microsoft Project 2007 and Oracle Project Accounting
- Programme Governance
- Project Management systems support, in particular contributing to the development and administration of the PM systems.
Experience required:
- Key to this role is strong Business Analysis and reporting skills
- Excellent report writing skills (you must be able to provide evidence f reporting skills / and tools used at interview stage)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Project 2007 (MS Project ''super user'')
- Experience of working within a PMO environment
- A flexible approach to problem solving and a strong drive to improve systems and processes
- Good analytical skills demonstrated in a previous role
- A desire to play a key role in the implementation and continued development of the project management systems
- Knowledge and experience of project management as discipline and project management systems
- Knowledge and experience in the use of reporting tools such as Oracle Financial, Cognos or Business Objects
- Advanced Excel and Access skills analysis, presentation and reporting
This is a permanent role based in Winchester and offering a salary £30-35k + company benefits
