Test Automation Engineer
Following the acquisition of BlueArc, Hitachi Data Systems is looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer. Based in Bracknell,the Test Automation Engineer will work in a thoroughbred environment. The successful Test Automation Engineer will become part of the Global QA team, responsible for delivering an enterprise class NAS product. Our objective is to create test automation covering as much of the functionality as possible for our NAS system. This includes all areas of networking, file systems and storage.
The Test Automation Engineer should have a strong background in development, and be comfortable with writing software in at least one modern object oriented language; ideally C++ or python.
The role requires someone who is highly motivated, adaptable and hard working; who takes ownership and is able to work with minimal supervision. The position involves close liaison with our development group (both software and hardware) - therefore, good communication skills are vital.
The Test Automation Engineer will need to demonstrate an ability to quickly assimilate and put into practice new technology.
The successful Test Automation Engineer will contribute to the work of the QA team as a whole, and be motivated to work day to day on an individual basis. They should be able to thrive in a dynamic environment, and be familiar with some or all of the following areas:
- Working in a heterogeneous computer environment,
e.g. Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, Apple OS X, Solaris. - Development in a client/server based architecture
- Computer networks, including an overview of networking protocols
- File sharing protocols, e.g. SMB/CIFS, and NFS
- An appreciation of test automation
