Embedded C / C++ Developer
Following the acquisition of BlueArc, Hitachi Data Systems is looking for an experienced Embedded C / C++ Developer to join our Software Engineering Team.
Based in Bracknell, the Embedded C / C++ Developer will work in a thoroughbred environment. Our commitment to creativity and innovative solutions means that we want to attract the most talented people in the industry.
The Embedded C / C++ Developer will: - Design and develop software in Embedded C / C++ .
- The main task is to design and develop software at the heart of a class leading NAS server, including, but not limited to hardware bring-up, operating system interface, clustering, installation, upgrades, management interface.
- Integration of code into a complex complete system.
- Working with testing department to ensure bug free reliable code.
Desired Skills - At least 4+ years C experience strongly desired, with OO C++ a significant advantage.
- Experience of embedded or kernel programming and networking.
- Knowledge of implementation of some or all of the following areas: clustering, Linux development and package management, system management, operating systems
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Perl/Ruby) also an advantage.
- Good at solving technical problems.
Soft skills
Self-starter, self-motivated. Capable of architecting and articulating the essence of a new design. Able to carry out trade-off and performance analysis.
Must be able to contribute to the work of a team and motivated to work day to day on individual modules. Able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science or other science / networking degree.
