Ruby on Rails / Perl Developer
Following the acquisition of BlueArc, Hitachi Data Systems is looking for an experienced Ruby on rails developer or Perl Devleoper. Based in Bracknell,the Ruby on Rails Developer / Perl Developer will work in a thoroughbred environment. The Ruby on Rails Developer / Perl Developer will: - Develop software and scripts using Ruby, Perl, Bash and other scripting languages, perhaps with occasional C / C++.
- Design, develop and maintain in house tools and internal web applications, used by the engineering and customer support teams.
- Gather requirements and design user interfaces, back-end processing and database management.
- Test and deploy services, initially in a sandbox environment, then live to potentially 100s of users.
- Integrate with other systems.
The Ruby on Rails / Perl Devleoper will have:
- 2+ years’ experience with either Ruby or Perl.
- Experience of developing at least simple GUIs.
- Basic working knowledge of Unix, including shell scripting.
- Experience with other scripting language, SQL and Apache a significant advantage.
- Good at solving technical problems.
- Self-starter, self-motivated.Capable of architecting and articulating the essence of a new design.Able to carry out trade-off and performance analysis.
- Must be able to contribute to the work of a team and motivated to work day to day on individual modules.Able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
