Performance Tester – LoadRunner - Glasgow
Sopra Group is currently seeking an experienced Performance Tester, to join our growing Testing Division in Scotland.
Location – Glasgow based, but must be willing to travel to client sites
Main Features of the Role
The successful applicant will be expected to:-
- Provide input to Performance Test approach, processes and standards
- Facilitate workshops to refine and agree project requirements and scope
- Produce Overall Test Strategies and Test Plans
- Review design and requirements documentation, and work with Business teams in order to develop Performance Test scripts
- Prepare Performance Test scripts using a relevant performance test tool
- Define test data requirements for test execution
- Ability to setup relevant monitoring prior to execution
- Execute tests using automated testing tools
- Perform comprehensive Analysis of results
- Produce Performance Test reports including Interim Execution reports and Final Summary report
- Liaise with stakeholders for analysis and sign-off of results
- Support Performance Test Lead in planning and management activities
- Participate in peer reviews of project deliverables as required
- Provide education and skills transfers to peers in Performance Test tools and techniques
- Record and report on progress against plan
- Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures
- Stand in for Performance Test Lead when they are not available
- Liaise with technical teams to ensure the environment is at the appropriate code level prior to commencing project testing
- Maintain Performance Test Tools – including patching of latest versions as appropriate
Experience Required
Applicants must be able to work under limited supervision. The role requires interactions with other department and project team members and frequent external contact with customers and suppliers.
Excellent communication skills are essential.
Applicants must understand and use appropriate methods, tools and applications and demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
Specific skills required include:
- Excellent technical experience of working with HP LoadRunner
- Demonstration of a full and grounded understanding of Performance Testing approaches, methods and technologies
- Strong working knowledge and exposure to multiple IT technologies such as Ajax, Siebel, SAP, Oracle, Citrix
- Ability to define and explain the Performance Testing Project Lifecycle
- Good understanding of test harnesses
In addition, the following skills/experience would be beneficial:
- HP Performance Center exposure
- Experience of offerings from other performance tool vendors, such as, Rational, Facilita, Scapa and Open Source
- Knowledge of HP QuickTest Pro (WinRunner would be considered) in an online environment
- Understanding of Relational Database system including knowledge of interrogation (eg SQL)
- A background in the Financial, Utilities or GIS Sectors would be an advantage
